Your data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation
What is GDPR?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European Union law that came into effect on May 25, 2018. It strengthens and unifies data protection for all individuals within the EU and regulates the export of personal data outside the EU.
MyPDFGenius is committed to full GDPR compliance and protecting the privacy rights of all our users.
Your Rights Under GDPR
1. Right of Access (Article 15)
You have the right to know if we process your personal data and, if so, to obtain a copy of that data along with information about how we process it.
2. Right to Rectification (Article 16)

7. Rights Related to Automated Decision-Making (Article 22)
You have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling.

We will respond to your request within one month of receiving it. In complex cases, we may extend this period by two additional months.
Data Processing at MyPDFGenius
Legal Basis: We process your data based on:
- Consent: For non-essential cookies and analytics
- Legitimate Interest: To operate and improve our services
- Contract Performance: To provide requested PDF services
Data Categories:
- Temporary PDF files (automatically deleted)
- Technical data (IP address, browser type)
- Usage data (tools used, performance metrics)
Data Retention:
- PDF files: Deleted immediately after processing
- Technical data: Retained for maximum 24 months
- Server logs: Retained for maximum 12 months
International Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA). When this occurs, we ensure that:
- Transfers are made to countries with EU adequacy decisions
- Appropriate safeguards are implemented (such as Standard Contractual Clauses)
- Adequate levels of data protection are maintained
Limitation of Liability under GDPR
IMPORTANT: While we comply with GDPR, WE ASSUME NO LIABILITY for:
- Losses resulting from exercising your GDPR rights
- Service interruptions due to data deletion requests
- Damages from delayed processing due to compliance checks
- Any loss of functionality resulting from data restriction
By exercising your GDPR rights, you accept that any service disruption is at your own risk.
Right to Lodge a Complaint
If you believe we have violated your data protection rights, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, particularly in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement.
